PDF to PNG
Convert PDF pages to lossless PNG images. Choose pages and resolution; download one image or a ZIP.

What this tool does
PDF to PNG renders pages of a PDF as PNG images, a lossless format that keeps text and line art crisp. Select all pages or only some, pick a resolution between 72 and 300 DPI, and download the result. It is a good choice for diagrams, screenshots stored as PDFs, and slides where sharp edges matter.
Each page is drawn by pdf.js in your browser on a white background and encoded to PNG locally. Progress is shown while pages render and you can cancel. Several pages are delivered as a ZIP, and individual images can be downloaded from the list.
PNG files are larger than JPEG, particularly for photographic pages at high DPI. If file size matters more than perfect fidelity, use PDF to JPG.
How to use it
- 1Add your PDF.
- 2Select the pages you want, by clicking thumbnails or typing a range.
- 3Choose a resolution (DPI).
- 4Press Convert and wait for the progress bar.
- 5Download the image, or all images as a ZIP.
Supported formats
Input: one PDF (.pdf), password-free. Output: PNG images, as a ZIP when more than one page is converted.
Privacy
This tool runs in your browser. The data you provide is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Limitations
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
- Pages are rendered on a white background; transparency in the PDF is not preserved in the PNG.
- Pages are capped at roughly 16 megapixels because of browser canvas limits, which can lower the effective DPI of very large pages.
- PNG output of many pages at 300 DPI can be hundreds of megabytes; choose fewer pages or a lower DPI if your browser runs out of memory.
FAQ
PNG or JPG: which should I pick?
PNG is lossless and sharper for text and graphics but larger. JPG is smaller and better for photos where tiny losses are acceptable.
Is the text in the PNG searchable?
No. The page becomes a picture. Keep the PDF if you need selectable text.
Why are the files so big?
PNG stores every pixel without loss. Lower the DPI or use PDF to JPG for smaller files.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. It is rendered locally in your browser.
